The Land of Sky Estate Planning Council is pleased to announce our Thursday, November 20^th meeting at the County Club of Asheville.  The presentation will be “How the $5.34 Million Estate Tax Exemption Changes the Landscape for Estate Planning.”  Our presenters will be Estate Planning Council members John Kelso and John Markel.  John Kelso will discuss the overall effects the new higher estate and gift tax exemptions have and will have on estate planning, and John Markel will explain how business valuations related to estate planning have been turned inside out by the new exemption amount.

John Kelso is an estate planning attorney with The Van Winkle Law Firm and a Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law and is past president and long-time member of the Land of Sky Estate Planning Council.  John Markel, Managing Director of Markel Valuation, P.C., is a CPA Accredited in Business Valuation and a member of the Land of Sky Estate Planning Council.
