Being Proactive with Special Needs Planning
Kathleen Rogberg and Andrew Atherton from McGuire Wood & Bissette, will be discussing "Issues in Elder Law".
Kathleen is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law. Her areas of practice are Trust, Estates and Elder Law, Elder abd Special Needs and Guardianship and Trust Modification.
Andrew works with families to develop personal estate plans to help navigate governmental programs. His areas of practice are Trust and Estates and Elder Law, Elder, Special Needs and Guardianship, Trust Modification, Tax Planning and Estate Planning.
Janet is from FIRST WNC. She is the Executive Director of First WNC which serves as a clearing house for families to support family members with disabilities.
The presentation will be on how to plan for family members with special needs in advance vs. during a crisis and how to find the right resources to develope the plan, as special needs planning is sometimes overlooked subset of the elder work that is done.
